St. John Sugar Queen Pageant to return

The St. John Sugar Queen committee is proud to announce the highly anticipated return of the St. John Sugar Queen Pageant.

This sweet tradition has been a staple in the River Parishes for years, and after a 6-year hiatus, it is now time to crown yet another young lady with the prestigious title of St. John Sugar Queen.

This year’s pageant takes place Saturday, August 3 at the historic St. John Theatre in Reserve. The event begins at 7 p.m. and is sure to be filled with top-quality entertainment as well as stellar local talent.

Join us as we celebrate our 2023 St. John Sugar Queen, Jaycee Bennett, and welcome a new queen to represent our sweet parish with excellence. Contestants must be residents of St. John Parish and meet pageant guidelines such as age requirements.

Teen contestants are ages 14-17 and Miss contestants are ages 18-22. For more information about the pageant and how to participate, email us at stjohnsugarqueen@yahoo.com.
