Membership drive underway for St. John Parish 4-H

Schools are back in session, which means the St. John Parish 4-H program is eager to accept
membership for the new year.

St. John 4-H is a positive youth development organization administered by the LSU AgCenter, offering youth ages eight to 19 an opportunity to participate in hands-on projects in the areas of health, science, agriculture, and civic engagement in a positive environment.

For the 2024-2025 program year, St. John Parish 4-H theme will be “Passport to Success.”

Xavier Bell, a 4-H Agent, said “ Success looks different to everyone, but in 4-H our goal is to help
youth reach their ultimate goals.”

4-H offers young people to learn about themselves, travel across Louisiana and country, meet
new people, and make lasting memories.

This program, 4-H will continue build on the success they have achieved this past year. Bell said he is excited about the new award opportunities, contest, and parish-level programs that will be implemented this year. For those adults who are wanting to give back to the community, 4-H offers volunteer opportunities, whether that serving as a judge, leading a workshop or chaperoning a trip.

Bell encourages everyone to stay connected with St. John Parish 4-H on social media and check out their website www.lsuagcenter.com/stjohn4h.

For more information contact the St. John 4-H Agent, Xavier Bell at xbell@agcenter.lsu.edu or by phone at 985-497-3261.
