LAPLACE — St. John the Baptist Parish officials announced Saturday afternoon samples tested by the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals were negative for contaminants, meaning the water is safe to drink.

Officials asked LaPlace residents to “please resume normal water use. The Boil Water Advisory has been lifted for your area.”

The positive news Saturday followed a Friday report of a water leak in LaPlace, which caused water pressure to drop and all LaPlace residents to fall are under a boil water advisory.

Since there was a significant loss of pressure in the water line and as a precaution, Water System No. 3 was issued a BOIL WATER ADVISORY.
