I believe we are all created for success. “For I know the plans that I have for you declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11.

God is not a respecter of persons;what He does for one is available for all.

I’ve had a desire to be successful all my life. I’ve had dreams of starting different businesses and making a lot of money. I failed because like many people blessed with talent, I was determined and passionate, but got easily sidetracked.

Being a people pleaser, I was easily distracted by a phone call, an unexpected visitor or thoughts that interrupted the intensity and focus I had on a particular project. Whatever sidetracks you is the enemy to what God has planned for you.

We have to take responsibility; be disciplined; have a clear, definite goal, and keep it before us at all times.

For over 20 years, I’ve had an idea to write a book. I even had the title, Sober and Saved, which was suggested to me by a recovering drug addict.

I started in September of last year. My first action was to list the 13 chapters of the book. My plan was to have it completed by Christmas. Well, that didn’t happen.

We are now in June and I’ve just completed my book because of all the times I allowed myself to be sidetracked.

The next step is to get it published. I have set my goal of having it for distribution by Sept. 21.  If I stay focused and with God’s help, that’s reachable.
