LULING, La. — The St. Charles Parish Department of Parks and Recreation has partnered with Kidcam Camps to offer a dynamic summer camp experience at Lakewood Elementary School, promising a blend of fun, fitness, and creativity for children aged 5 to 13. This partnership marks a significant stride towards enriching the summer experiences of local youth, with activities scheduled from May 28 through July 26.

Under the theme “Camping through the Decades,” the camp celebrates Kidcam Camps’ 50th anniversary by taking participants on a nostalgic journey through time. Campers can look forward to a diverse array of activities including sports, creative arts, STEM, and team-building games, aimed at fostering friendships and igniting a spirit of adventure.

Duane Foret, Director of the St. Charles Parish Department of Parks and Recreation, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting its importance in providing a fulfilling summer option for children after recent challenges. “This collaboration with Kidcam Camps is a testament to our commitment to delivering a memorable summer filled with joy and camaraderie to our community’s youth,” Foret said.

Melissa Conner, President & CEO of Kidcam Camps, also shared her excitement about bringing the camp’s longstanding tradition of summer fun to St. Charles Parish. “For half a century, Kidcam Camps has been a beacon of summer spirit for communities across the southeast. We’re delighted to partner with St. Charles Parish Parks and Recreation to create lasting memories and enrich the lives of even more children,” Conner stated.
