Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

In recent years (10), keeping student performance up in our parish is getting worse.
Our students are working with ghost staffing, uncertified staff and many substitutes.
We were supposed to be notified in the beginning of the year that we may request, and the local will provide, information regarding whether professionals are highly effective, including the qualifications of the student’s teacher:
1) has met state qualification and licensing criteria for the grade levels and subject
in areas in which  the teacher provides instruction;
2) is teaching under emergency or other provisional status through which state
qualification or licensing criteria have be waved;
3) is teaching in the field of discipline not of the certification of the teacher; and
4) is teaching alongside paraprofessionals and, if so, the paraprofessional’s
qualifications ( ESSA 1112 (e) (1) (A).
This is a small part of Parental Notification and Parents Right To Know!
At the last board meeting the board voted to hire the a service group with the main competitors of public schools today.
Previous years when the Director of Human Resources and the Union worked together
to assure that our teachers were notified about working on their certification with that same assurance that the paperwork would be sent to the state department.
How did we get here with that many uncertified staff to be concerned about the thousands of dollars they may be losing? What about our children and the ineffective teachings going on because the worry seems to be on being sure the teachers are being paid properly.
Parents ask questions and demand answers. We are owed a ton of information like in
the Copy of the Code Of Discipline Book, if we were given one according to law.
Talk to your children as soon as the school day is over about their day.
In the coming week, look for more information we are supposed to be receiving from the school system.
Next board meeting is scheduled for 10/12/23, hope to see you there.
