Jarien Anderson arrested in connection to LaPlace shooting

LAPLACE — Jarien Anderson was arrested in connection to a shooting that occurred Wednesday, September 7, 2023 in the 1000 block of Windsor Boulevard in LaPlace where a 20-year-old man was injured.
About 8:15 p.m., officers responded to Windsor Boulevard in reference to shots fired in the area. Upon arrival, evidence of a shooting was discovered; officers located two vehicles with several bullet holes. However, no victims were located.
Subsequently, the St. John Sheriff’s Office was notified that a 20-year-old male subject was being treated for a gunshot wound to the hand at a local hospital. Upon arrival at the hospital, officers made contact with the subject who reported he was walking home on Windsor Boulevard where an unknown subject approached him and shot him. The victim was treated at the local hospital then transported to a New Orleans hospital where he is in stable condition.
Through investigation, detectives developed Anderson as a suspect. During an interview, Anderson confessed to firing gunshots that struck one of the vehicles. He was charged with aggravated criminal damage to property. He is being held in custody in lieu of a $10,000 bond set by Judge V. Fiffie.
This is an ongoing investigation, and more charges are expected.
