Gonzales Man Sentenced to 10 Years for Illegal Narcotics Possession

On last week, Brent Fearheiley of 14496 Airline Hwy Gonzales, LA, age 43, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (3 counts) and Posssession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance. Fearheiley was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Charles “Chuck” Long, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Tess Stromberg. This guilty plea was the result of a plea agreement with prosecutors following a 2020 narcotics investigation.
On February 29, 2020, narcotics agents with the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office were contacted by the Jennings Police Department regarding a traffic stop made in the city of Jennings which resulted in the arrest of Brent Fearheiley. Officers with the Jennings Police department advised that during a search of Fearheiley’s vehicle, large quantities of methamphetamine and fentanyl were recovered. Fearheiley told officers that he was traveling from Gonzales to Lake Charles. Based on this information, agents in Ascension Parish obtained a search warrant for Fearheiley’s Gonzales home. During the execution of the search warrant, agents seized quantities of methamphetamine, steroids, marijuana, fentanyl, and assorted drug paraphernalia. Fearheiley was eventually booked into the Ascension Parish Jail.
Upon entering a guilty plea to the above-mentioned charges, pursuant to the plea agreement with prosecutors, Fearheiley was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
