Humility is the key that will open many doors. For the ease of it gracefully opens them without resistance. Humility is laying down one’s own importance and taking the low road with the expectation of it leading to a greater height. Sometimes, well most of the time, it is for someone else to reach.

While we are helping someone else up, God is raising us up. A prime example of humility is Jesus Christ. He laid down his own importance in order for us to live. What if he would have thought highly of himself? If he hadn’t thought about the need of us, where would we all be?

He wrapped his love for us in humbleness. By enduring a life that was not suitable for the stature of who he is. For He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The majestic holy one of God. He laid down his own will by saying, “not my will but let thy will be done.” Not only in words but in his actions also.

We must surrender to God’s will in our heart not just with our lips. Thinking of others beyond ourselves with a reminder that humility is a part of the very essences of who God is. Exemplifying it in the earth places our own importance on the back burner. So that someone else’s burner can have an opportunity to flame in Jesus’ name. God Bless!
