MORGAN CITY — The St. James High School Fishing Team competed in the third Annual Jaboom Baits Classic high school bass tournament on August 5, 2023 out of Doiron’s Landing in Morgan City. There were 59 boats entered in the tournament. First place tournament winners were Jackson Rodgers and Caden Sellers Of Denham Springs High School – Five fish 9.71LB
St. James entered three boats, and results are as follows:
- Jace Cortez – Third place big bass 3.86LB
- Travis Becnel – Fourth place big bass 3.26LB
- 12th place – Cade Becnel/Beau Brazan/Captain Blake Trosclair – Five fish 7.46LB
- 18th place – Jaxx Williams/Travis Becnel/Captain Jeremy Williams – Three fish 6.43LB
- 25th place – Carson Cortez/Jace Cortez/Captain Trent Zeringue – Two fish 5.11LB
