LAPLACE — Raneisha Love founded Prettier ‘N Person Boutique five years ago to inspire confidence in women with an outfit for every occasion. Expanding upon a successful online storefront, styles ranging from casual to chic are now available to customers inside Love’s new storefront at 299 Belle Terre Blvd. Suite BB in LaPlace.

A grand opening ceremony was held this summer to celebrate the transformation of the business. The store, formerly a warehouse, is now a space for local customers to view inventory, try on clothing, and pick up online orders from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. Prettier ‘N Person is maintaining its online presence at prettiernperson.com, where Love reaches customers from across the globe.

Love used her marketing skills to tap into e-commerce when she started the Prettier ‘N Person brand back in 2018.

“I knew I would be able to go further than most companies. I’m competitive, and I’ve always had that edge,” Love said. “The e-commerce space for women’s retail was in high demand. There’s not a lot in this area for shopping; most people have to go towards New Orleans, Metairie or Baton Rouge.”

Love has built a successful brand through targeted digital advertising. She starts by looking at demographics and finding common interests among her customer base. A majority of her orders have come from Southern U.S. states such as Texas, Georgia and Florida, where boutiques are popular. A large volume also comes from New York and California.

Love has hired additional staff to keep up with the high demand. As the business grew on a global scale, she saw an opportunity to better serve her local customer base.

“A lot of local people knew about the business just from seeing it on social media, and I had a large volume of requests from people wanting to come in and see the merchandise,” Love said. “My store had always been closed to the public, and I was basically using my facility as a warehouse only. The more we started marketing the business, the more people wanted to come in and see it, especially local people. The grand opening was a way to introduce the store to the public to let everyone know they can come in and shop.”

Prettier ‘N Person Boutique offers a range of dresses, tops, pants, jumpsuits, skirts and rompers in regular and plus sizes. Love described the brand as “versatile” and shared that her main goal is to make every customer feel valued, whether they are shopping online or in person.

“If you want to go to brunch, there is something for you. If you want to have a cozy Saturday hanging around the house or running errands, there’s something for you. If you want to have a formal event, there’s something for you,” she said. “Whatever the occasion, there is something to fit that need.”
