Florida man arrested for murder of Reserve man

A Florida man has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of Hugh Hinds, 48, of Reserve that occurred Tuesday, June 19, 2023 in a Reserve neighborhood. Ian Everton Williams, 44, of Pembroke Pines, Fla. was charged with second degree murder (felony).
On Tuesday, June 19, 2023, about 2:40 p.m., deputies responded to the 500 block of Homewood Place in reference to an unresponsive male slumped over in the driver’s side of a vehicle. Upon arrival, deputies observed a man, later identified as Hinds, sitting in the driver’s side of an SUV with a gunshot wound to the face. Emergency services attempted to render medical aid, but Hinds died at the scene.
Through investigation, detectives developed Williams as the suspect. A motive is unknown at this time, and this investigation is ongoing.
Williams is being held in custody in lieu of a $200,000 bond.
