CareerOneStop.org is an online tool sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor to support your career needs. This site has free online tools, information, and resources to help you change careers and get employment advice.

Here are five things to check out on CareerOneStop.org:

• The mySkills myFuture website can help you identify skills and potential career paths. On this site, you can enter previous jobs and find career matches with similar skills. If you already know the career you want to explore, you can enter the job title or occupation to get career matches.
• On the Explore Careers page, you can find wages, employment trends, skills needed, and more for any occupation. With this information, you can learn what it is like to work in different careers.
• Take the Interest Assessment by answering 30 quick questions about your interests in certain job related activities. This will help you find careers that match your interests.
• Visit the Skills Matcher to rate your current level of skill or knowledge on 40 topics and get occupations that match.
• Get details about more than 900 occupations on the Occupation Profile page. For each career you will see job activities, typical earnings, education/training required, and more. This will help you narrow down your search and find the perfect role.

Are you ready to take the next step and find a job? American Job Centers can help you search for jobs, find training, and give career counseling. Find your local Job Center to get in-person help for your career planning. You can also use the Job Finder to browse job postings based on type of job and location.

• Use the Veterans Job Finder to help find civilian jobs that could be a good fit based on your military skills.
• Read about civilian employment to learn about the differences between military and civilian careers like pay, training, benefits, and health care services.
• The Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (VETS) helps prepare Veterans, service members and their spouses for a meaningful career. You can find tools to learn about civilian careers and browse resources by state on this VETS page.
• The Veteran Readiness and Employment Program can help Veterans and service members with service-connected disabilities learn new skills, find a job, and get educational counseling.
