GRAMERCY — On Saturday, June 10, St. James Parish will be hosting its monthly Market Day Event. The St. James Parish Market Day is held the second Saturday of every month at the St James Parish Welcome Center. This event provides a venue for local farmers, vendors, small businesses and micro businesses to sell their goods directly to our local community. Venders are invited to sell homemade products, produce and food items.

Economic Development Board member Brad Poche, who serves as Market Day coordinator, is excited to see vendors and community members out at the June Market Day event. Poche said, “The beginning of summer means fresh homegrown vegetables, and this market day we will have three vendors with fresh, homegrown vegetables. Delicious food has always been a staple to our Market Day – come have lunch at the Market. It’s a great place to mingle and visit with other citizens.”

Local vendor Elisca Berthelot Delatte has participated in every market day that the Parish has hosted since the events start in 2022. She said, “I love to sew, and the market allows me to showcase my creations so that other people in the community can enjoy them too.”

Market Day will be held on Saturday, June 10 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Welcome Center, located at 1094 US-61 S, Gramercy, LA 70052. A constant rotation of shuttles is available from the Golden Grove Truck Stop, located at 935 Highway 641, Gramercy, LA 70052.
