BATON ROUGE — Calling all Louisiana youth 15 years of age and younger! Did you ever think you could win a fishing derby without paying an entry fee or weighing or measuring a fish? Here’s your chance! The Southeast Louisiana National Wildlife Refuges and the Friends of Louisiana Refuges Inc. are hosting a FREE Virtual Youth Fishing Rodeo during the Louisiana free fishing weekend June 10-11, 2023. Here’s how to join the fun:

- Youth should create a sign that says #GetYourFishOn2023 or #GeauxFish2023 and display it with their catch. Then send the photo of the youth angler holding their catch with the sign to firstname.lastname@example.org to the Southeast Louisiana National Wildlife Refuges Complex Facebook page @Southeast Louisiana in a direct message utilizing Facebook messenger.
- Have fun fishing!
Photos of youth anglers and their catch must be received by 4 p.m. Monday June 12. Prize winners will be selected randomly from the photos received and will be announced Friday, June 16.
