NORCO – Rico Lawson (10) reeled in a 17-lb Gar Fish to take home the award for overall largest fish in the third annual Fish Dat Rodeo hosted by the St. Charles Parish Department of Parks and Recreation.

“We could not have asked for a better day to host our Fish Dat Rodeo at the Bonnet Carre’ Spillway,” Director of Parks and Recreation Duane Foret said. “It’s been amazing to see growth from nearly 40 participants in year one to 125 in year three, which shows our community’s investment in the outdoors.”

Every person who attended the event was able to go home with at least one prize thanks to more than 20 local sponsors. Special guest Leron Jones from the 14th season of Swamp People highlighted the afternoon under the Spillway Pavilion.
