LAPLACE — St. Charles Catholic High School is a proud community institution, and SCC alumnus, Todd P. Trosclair, seeks to assist families as they send their children to SCC to receive a Catholic education.
Trosclair graduated from St. Charles Borromeo High School in 1977, where he was very active in sports and clubs. Living out the American dream of owning his own company, Mr. Trosclair firmly believes his success is attributable to education and strong, dependable teamwork. He is now CEO of All Star Electric, Inc. and founder of the All Star Foundation. The Foundation oversees and awards a scholarship to students attending SCC as a way to show support of Catholic education and to allow Trosclair to assist active, hard-working, and involved students with their high school tuition.
To apply for the awards, applicants must be a current St. Charles Catholic High School student, and the student must be participating in and must continue participation in at least one activity where he/she may earn “letterman” status. The criteria used in awarding this scholarship focuses on the demonstration of the student’s development of the mind, body, and spirit. It is a tenet of Catholic education that the school assist in the growth of the whole person, and the student essays demonstrate how their time at SCC has been an asset to their continued total growth.
Two scholarship winners were recently awarded $1,000 each to be put toward their SCC tuition, and the winners are SCC juniors Laney Beadle and Carson Weber.
Laney Beadle is a junior athlete at SCC who maintains a competitive GPA in one of SCC’s most rigorous curriculum offerings, including Advanced Placement and Dual Enrollment courses through which she is currently earning college credits. She has lettered in both tennis and volleyball while serving as an SCC Ambassador, Student Council leader, and National Honor Society member.
Carson Weber is a junior athlete at SCC who maintains a strong GPA in the SCC Honors curriculum. He is a letterman in Swim and Soccer, earning distinctions in both sports. In addition to his athletic accomplishments, Weber has earned placement in the National Honor Society.
SCC is so appreciative of the All Star Foundation for selecting these students for recognition through this scholarship and for their continued commitment to the SCC community. To learn more about St. Charles Catholic High School, visit www.stcharlescatholic.org.
