RESERVE — Parish President Jaclyn Hotard was joined by Parks & Recreation Director Michael Sanders and staff, Council members, representatives from Marathon Petroleum Company, Meyer Engineers and Geosurfaces, and many players, coaches and fans, to cut the ribbon on the new turf field during the youth baseball season opener this past weekend.

In addition to the turf project, drainage improvements and other enhancements were also completed near the park.

Hotard officially kicked off baseball season by throwing out the first pitch – a strike right down the middle!

“It is a great day to cut the ribbon on this beautiful field surrounded by so many excited players and families,“ Hotard said. “More than 100 players have registered for this baseball season and is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the Recreation Department & all involved.” “We look forward to additional improvements at our parks in the future and will continue to update on these efforts.”
