RESERVE—Auditions for River Parish Community Theatre’s summer presentation of “The SpongeBob Musical” are right around the corner. Auditions will be held Monday, May 1 through Friday, May 5 at 7 p.m. at St. Peter School in Reserve. As always with River Parish Community Theatre, auditions are open, and all roles are available.

Director Darryl Clement offered some information about the show and the auditions, saying, “For those who think this is about foam costumes and a cartoon-like theme, you’ll be in for a VERY big surprise. This show is a Tony Award winner and has a strong message, delivered through one of the most entertaining plots I’ve seen in quite a while.”

Clement continued, “The soundtrack was headlined by music from some of the biggest names in today’s music scene such as Panic! At The Disco, Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, John Legend and Cyndi Lauper, among others.”

While there are spots available for people ages 10 and up, the main characters are all teen-aged and older. Additionally, many lead roles are able to be filled by male OR female actors.
