LAPLACE—St. John Parish President Jaclyn Hotard presented the parish’s 911 operators a proclamation declaring April 9-15, 2023 National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week in St. John.

President Hotard and the Parish Council recognized the dispatchers for their hard work and dedication to serving the community.

Sheriff Mike Tregre also thanked the group for working behind the scenes to ensure the safety of the citizens of St. John.

“I am grateful to our 911 operators for choosing this essential job,” Sheriff Tregre said, “to be the unseen first responders who serve as the critical link between the public and emergency personnel in times of crisis.”
