Thousands without power in LaPlace

LAPLACE — Entergy Louisiana technicians are working to restore power Monday morning following a large outage in LaPlace affecting more than 2,700 customers.
The outage occurred after a vehicle struck a power line just after 8 a.m.
The estimated restoration time is 10:30 a.m. However, this restoration time will most likely be extended for some customers, according to Entergy.
Several traffic signals are out along Airline Highway in LaPlace, and St. John Parish officials urge motorists to use caution when traveling in this area.
