In early February 2023, Kenner Police began investigating allegations that three children between the ages of five through ten-years-old, were inappropriately touched by a person known to the family.
All three female victims were forensically interviewed and disclosed that Jeffrey Wetekamm, 60, Kenner, a family friend, had touched each of them on their private area when they were alone with him. All of the incidents occurred within a two-year period.
On February 28, 2023, Wetekamm was arrested by the Kenner Police Department at his home at which time his cell phone was seized and a search warrant was obtained. A search of the phone revealed incriminating evidence.
Wetekamm has been charged with three counts of RS14:43.1 relative to Sexual Battery involving victims under the age of thirteen.
