Louisiana student arrested for allegedly making threats of shooting

Barbe High School, 2200 W McNeese St. A Barbe High School student was arrested Thursday night after allegedly making threats of a shooting during class. Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Kayla Vincent said after the 15-year-old was interviewed, he was booked into the Juvenile Detention Center and charged with terrorizing. CPSO Roger Pete is the lead investigator on this case.

The Calcasieu Parish School Board said it made aware of a situation involving potentially threatening behavior towards Barbe High School on Thursday evening. “This situation is being taken very seriously and is being fully investigated by both the Calcasieu Parish School Board and the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office,” said spokesperson Holly Holland.  “The safety of faculty, staff and students will always be our number one priority. We want to assure parents and guardians that our campuses are safe places for students, and that will always be our primary focus.”
