The Louisiana Emergency Rental Assistance Program and the Louisiana Homeowner Assistance Fund will stop accepting new applications after 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21.

The COVID-19 relief programs provide rental and mortgage assistance to Louisiana residents affected by the pandemic and are administered by the Louisiana Division of Administration. The state is closing applications for both programs in order to distribute the remaining funding to residents who have already applied.

“I am incredibly proud of the success of both of these programs, providing much-needed rental and mortgage assistance to thousands of renters and homeowners throughout Louisiana who have been impacted by COVID-19,” Governor John Bel Edwards said. “The programs will continue to provide assistance to current applicants as funds remain available in an effort to support as many Louisiana residents as possible.”

The state will continue reviewing applications submitted prior to Dec. 21 for both programs until all funds are expended. Current applicants are encouraged to check their application statuses in the program portals or reach out to their case managers with any questions.
