Hahnville, LA – President Jewell has declared state of emergency due to the severe weather in St. Charles Parish. The Emergency Operations Center is receiving reports of damage in the Killona area including downed power lines and blocked roads.

Residents should avoid the area and do not touch down power lines as they may still be electrified.

Residents should ensure they have multiple ways to receive weather alerts. If sirens are activated, residents should seek information from a reliable weather source or parish communications and take cover immediately.
