Lutcher vehicle accident claims 2 lives

On December 9, 2022, shortly before 9:30 p.m., St. James Parish Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a three-vehicle vehicle crash at the intersection of LA 3125 and LA 3193 in Lutcher. The crash claimed the life of 39-year-old female Jennifer Bell of Lutcher and 24-year-old Patron Dillon of Summit, MS.
The preliminary investigation revealed a 2011 Nissan Maxima turned left from the northbound turning lane LA 3125 onto LA 3193. At the same time, a 2013 BMW 335 driven by Patron Dillon was traveling southbound on LA 3125. For reasons still under investigation, the two vehicles collided, which then caused the Nissan to collide with a 2022 Nissan Toyota Carolla in the northbound turning lane of LA 3125.
Ms. Bell, a passenger in the Nissan, was ejected and suffered fatal injuries. Mr. Dillon, driver of the BMW was transported to a hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.
Toxicology samples were collected from all drivers involved. This crash remains under investigation with the assistance of Louisiana State Police
