LUTCHER —Starting this week, walk-in flu vaccines will be offered through St. James Urgent Care in Lutcher from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday. Patients who are coming in for previously scheduled appointments with their primary care physician, are encouraged to ask about the flu vaccine during their visit.
St. James Parish Hospital’s vaccines will be offered to adults and children age 3 and up.
Patients under 3, should see a pediatrician. The CDC recommends that everyone six months
and older receive a flu vaccine each season, especially those that are at high risk of serious
complications from influenza. Sick patients or those with COVID-like symptoms must wait to get vaccinated.
Patients should bring in an ID and their insurance card. There are no out-of-pocket costs with
most insurances. A cash pay option will also be offered for patients without insurance.
The walk-in option is for flu vaccines only. Contact your doctor’s office about pneumonia
vaccines.
St. James Urgent Care is located in Lutcher in the Medical Plaza next to the Hospital.
