The St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office has been notified that representatives of the University of Michigan Survey Research Center will be in LaPlace next week to conduct a social research study with local families.
Field researchers from the Institute for Social Research (ISR) will be going door-to-door, starting Monday, to randomly pre-selected addresses in LaPlace. The field researchers will be wearing credentials identifying them as employees of the University of Michigan and are required to comply with all applicable laws and ordinances.
If someone comes to your door and you are unable to see their identification or you do not feel safe, close your door, and call 911.
An officer will be dispatched to your location.
