The St. James-based CaneCutters baseball team concluded a four-year journey with a recent World Series appearance at The Ripken Experience in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The boys played outstanding ball against very tough competition, going 4-2-1.
The final game was bittersweet, as it marked the CaneCutters’ last appearance together before the team disbanded. Over the past four years of playing ball, they have become more like family than teammates. As the World Series came to a close, one message was clear: once a CaneCutter, always a CaneCutter.
Team members include Baylen Lear, Beaux Badeaux, Jayven LeBouef, Easton Gravois, Caiden Garcich, Brantley Haydel, Ian Magendie, Josh Babin, Brady Berthelot and Graham Millet. The CaneCutters were guided by coaches Tray Haydel, Buddy Millet, Jake Rizzuto, TJ Badeaux and Ryan Montz.
Special thanks also goes to Cole Becnel, who traveled with the CaneCutters to Tennessee as a pick-up player.
