PLAQUEMINE – River Parishes Community College (RPCC) will host an Industrial Training Fair with the Pelican Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) on Tuesday, May 17, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Westside Campus in Plaquemine.
This event is open to anyone looking to explore the training and other opportunities ABC and RPCC’s Westside campus have to offer. ABC’s classes include NCCER Core, Electrical Level 1 and Millwright Level 1. RPCC offers additional Workforce training as well as academic programs at the Westside campus in Process Technology, Instrumentation & Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance and more.
“Industry in our region provides career opportunities in the industrial crafts that are always in demand,” said Greater Baton Rouge Industry Alliance (GBRIA) CEO and President Connie Fabre. “Investing in training can boost a person’s career and set him or her on a path to not only greater income but also to doing meaningful work making the modern products we enjoy, from athletic shoes and child car seats to electric cars and solar panels. And if you live or work on the west side of the Mississippi River, the new Plaquemine site of RPCC is a great place to get that training in the evening with ABC Pelican Chapter’s program; this is a great partnership benefiting the residents and workers on the west side.”
Everyone is invited to attend this event, particularly those wanting to begin or enhance a career in industry.
“ABC Pelican is excited to meet members of the community next week interested in learning about industrial training opportunities at the RPCC Westside location in Plaquemine,” said ABC’s Director of Workforce Development Danielle Labbé.
