St. Charles Parish Superintendent Ken Oertling presented an upcoming renewal for a $35 million bond renewal for St. Charles Parish Public School system to the River Region Chamber Public Policy Committee at its regularly scheduled meeting on April 5, 2022.

This renewal is for a period of 10 years and is not a new tax, and there will be no change in the current tax rate. This renewal will be used for needed renovations such as classroom additions and technology upgrades at all schools in the district to the highest quality of education for the students.

The River Region Chamber of Commerce has reviewed the proposition and is in support of the renewal that will be on the April 30 ballot.
