Throughout the day yesterday, #Troopers have assisted members of the Arabi community who were affected by the tornado on Tuesday evening that was part of a strong storm system. In addition to, assisting with traffic control, damage assessments and rescue operations, Troopers were able to provide meals and drinks to those in need and even helped move belongings out of damaged homes. Colonel Lamar Davis had the opportunity to tour the damaged area and speak with some community members coping with the devastation.
As much of the affected area remains without power, Louisiana State Police conducted looting patrols throughout the night. They continued to support and to assist the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office and the community.
The limited visibility during nighttime hours posed a heightened level of danger with down power lines, poles and other debris.
LSP asks that the public, please continue to keep the St. Bernard Parish Community in your thoughts and prayers.
