On Monday, January 3, 2022, the SJSO received a complaint about a large pile of construction debris illegally dumped on Main Street in LaPlace.
Reviewing video captured by surveillance cameras in the area, officers observed a dark colored pickup truck with a trailer pull up to an area of Main Street on December 30, 2021. The truck driver proceeded to back into a trail, dump the contents of the trailer onto the ground, then left the area toward U.S. 51. Other cameras in the area also captured the same truck and trailer traveling through LaPlace. Through further investigation, officers identified the company truck, based out of Houston. Officers then located the truck on Yorktowne Drive.
The driver was issued a misdemeanor summons for commercial littering and was ordered to pick up the debris for proper disposal.
