RESERVE — The River Parish Community Theatre Board of Directors is excited to announce the selection of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “Cinderella” as its 2022 summer musical. The decision to re-stage the production from last year’s cancelled show came after careful deliberation and consideration of many factors.
“Feedback from our supporters and community was overwhelming in a desire to see the magical production we put together. Many felt as though they missed out on what has been called our best ever by those who did get to see the one performance we were able to stage,” said RPCT Artistic Director Darryl Clement. He added, “From our perspective there was a bit of a feeling of unfinished business. We knew we had something very special and once we got the consistent feedback from our supporters, this decision made itself. The community deserves a chance to see this show.”
RPCT President Sean Roussel commented that, although the theatre is restaging “Cinderella” much work remains. “We’re never satisfied with ‘good enough’ and that’s what keeps us at the top of our game. We will have several cast members to replace due to other commitments. We will also spend time and resources on improving the production as a whole. We intend to do more community-related events around the show as well.”
Auditions information and available roles will be announced soon, along with more information. Show dates for RPCT’s production of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “Cinderella” will be July 22-24 and July 27-30.
