NOLA-Creations, Louisiana Fish Fry and Faith Mission partner to provide Hurricane Ida Relief

LAPLACE — NOLA-Creation, Louisiana Fish Fry and Faith Mission Brenham will be hosting a Hurricane Ida Relief Event for some of the hardest hit areas in Louisiana. On Saturday, September 25 and Sunday, September 26, the group with be in Houma, Dulca, and LaPlace Louisiana serving over 3,000 hot meals and giving away bottled water, non-perishable goods, cleaning supplies, diapers and other items.

Chef Darrel Johnson, winner of the 10th season of the Food Network’s Great Food Truck Race, said, “I was born and raised in New Orleans and my restaurants and Food Trucks are in Bossier City/Shreveport, so it is only natural for me to give back to my community.”

He went on to say, “Louisiana Fish Fry is one of my corporate sponsors and Faith Mission is respected not just in Texas but in Louisiana for being one of the leading disaster agencies in country.”

The LaPlace Relief Event is being held at 944 Cambridge Drive in LaPlace from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or until all the food and supplies have been distributed. The LaPlace partners are St. John Parish Councilwoman Tonia Schnyder – District VI, and the St. John Heat Youth Organization led by Raffeal Neal.

Neal said, “Our communities have been devastated. It’s worse than Hurricane Katrina, and it has been almost a month and we are still without electricity.”

Councilwoman Schynder said, “I am grateful to the groups that are coming to serve our community in our time of need.”

Faith Mission, through its Neighbors Helping Neighbors Disaster Relief Program, has accounts at Bank of Brenham, Brenham National Bank and Citizen’s State Bank for citizens who want to help.

CEO, JD Young said, “We have gotten so many requests our community on how they can help, and every disaster is different. During Hurricane Katrina, we served over 550 families in our county, now with Hurricane Ida members of our Faith Mission team will be on the ground in Louisiana.”

M3 Events by Mechelle presents a disaster relief giveaway, #502Water4Louisiana, beginning at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 26 at 944 Cambridge Drive in LaPlace.
