LUTCHER — Pageant queens representing industries across Louisiana recently visited The Ferry Landing at 2113 Miles Street in Lutcher to learn more about the rich culture of the River Parishes.
The Ferry Landing was the perfect location because it houses more than 4,000 square feet of timeless treasures created by River Region artists. Homemade items include jarred local honey, jams, jellies, pepper jellies, salsa, baked goods and cookies. The Ferry Landing also houses handmade soaps, candles, scrubs and body products, hand sanitizers, jewelry, door hangers, wreaths, outdoor swings, wall décor, birdhouses, photography, postcards, paintings, reclaimed lumber and much more.
The Ferry Landing recently expanded to include a quaint coffee shop that offers specialty drinks, snacks and lunch specials.
Visiting queens participated in a scavenger hunt for several small “sugar jars” hidden around the coffee shop and vendor booths, representing the local sugar industry.
The scavenger hunt will continue for customers through July 24 with a Christmas in July theme. Little presents hidden around The Ferry Landing will have special coupons for shoppers.
