On June 12, 2021 just before 6 p.m. the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a call for service related to a body floating in the Mississippi River in St. Rose.
The S.C.S.O. Marine Division, Criminal Investigation, Patrol, and the Crime Scene Division responded and recovered a deceased male subject.
During the investigation, an autopsy was completed and dental records were used to confirm the identity of the deceased male. It was determined that the subject is a 49-year-old male, Mark Cambre. Cambre was a resident of New Orleans and was reporting missing with the New Orleans Police Department on June 9, 2021.
The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office partnered with the New Orleans Police Department to further investigate the incident and there are no indications of foul play. We greatly appreciate the assistance and tips we received from the public which helped bring this case to closure.
