LaPlace man arrested with a Kenner man for multiple burglaries & weapons charge

Kenner – On June 24, 2021, at 1:30 a.m. a resident in the 3700 block of East Loyola Drive, Kenner, reported observing two subjects wearing dark clothing, going car to car pulling on door handles.

Officers immediately responded to the area, observed two subjects matching the clothing description, walking at the intersection of East Loyola Drive and Vintage Drive.  Officers also observed both subjects to be wearing black latex gloves.

Officers attempted to make contact with the two subjects who then fled on foot west on Vintage Drive and into the Kenner City Park area.  Both suspects were apprehended after a brief pursuit.  Both were found to be armed with handguns, one of which had an obliterated serial number.

The two suspects were identified as Marius White, 18, Kenner and Antoine Williams, 18, Laplace.

Officers canvassed the area and located three vehicles that were burglarized of the 3700 block of East Loyola Drive.

Had it not been for the alert resident who called in the suspicious activity and the quick response of the officers, several more vehicles in that neighborhood could have potentially been burglarized.  Citizens and police working together is one of the most effective crime fighting tools available.

Marius White was charged with three counts of RS14:62B(2) Simple Burglary, one count of RS14:108 Resisting Arrest and one count of RS14:95 Illegal Carry of Weapons.

Antoine Williams was charged with three counts of RS14:62B(2) Simple Burglary, one count of RS14:108 Resisting Arrest, one count of RS14:95 Illegal Carrying of a Weapon and one count of RS14:95.7C(1) Possession of a Firearm with Obliterated Serial Numbers.
