NEW ORLEANS, La.Parade of Homes presented by the Home Builders Association of Greater New Orleans (HBAGNO) is the largest official showcase of the latest in home design in the Greater New Orleans area. It serves as the region’s best opportunity to tour new homes and see the latest innovations in building construction and industry trends, such as adaptable and multi-purpose layouts, cozy vacation living, combined open air living spaces, lighting and plumbing finishes, and the newest trends for 2021. Attendees can also receive expert advice from the area’s trusted builders, designers, lenders, and real estate professionals.

As we continue to be compliant and strategic in providing a safe environment in each homethis year’s Parade of Homes is again being presented both in-home and via 3D virtual tours. The Parade features a total of 19 homes. These amazing homes can be seen in-person by visiting them each Saturday and Sunday of the Parade from 1-5 p.m.  Select Parade homes can also be seen virtually, using Matterport’s innovative 3D virtual tour technology.

To visit virtually, attendees are encouraged to download the free “New Orleans Parade of Homes” mobile app from the Apple Store or Google Play. The Matterport 3D virtual tour app is the latest tool in the Parade of Homes toolbox.  It features a full list of Parade homes with locations, directions to each home, a range of prices to fit all budgets, builder contacts, sponsors, and vendors. The app lets visitors do a 360° tour of each room of the home.

As spring and summer continue to be the most popular times for families to build or renovate a home, the Parade of Homes is ideal for inspirational concepts for those planning to build or renovate. And, even with hope in sight that the pandemic is ending, many people are ready to search for a new home that offers style and much needed space, as well as comfort and a sense of community. This year’s Parade homes will be featured in neighborhoods across the greater metro area, including Lakeview, Bucktown, Colonial Club, Metairie, English Turn, Louisiana Trace, Parks of Plaquemines, Gabriel Estates, Shrewsbury, Algiers Point, and Sugar Ridge in Thibodaux.

“This year’s in-home and 3D virtual Parade offers a variety of homes in neighborhoods that reflect the diverse tastes and budgets of all potential homebuyers in our community,” said Mary Kelly of Ferguson Enterprises and Chair of the 2021 Parade of Homes.  “After a year of missing the company of loved ones, working remotely and homeschooling children, home builders are creating plans with additional space for home offices, playrooms, and entertaining. We are excited and proud to once again showcase the work of our area’s most innovative builders, subcontractors, and vendors who provide inspiration while building strong relationships in the communities in which they serve.”

Additionally, the HBAGNO is a proud supporter of the St. Jude Dream Home®. While the home will be closed to the public by the start of the 2021 Parade of Homes on July 17, proceeds from the now sold-out, annual raffle will support St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. The St. Jude Dream Home is a 2,800 sq. ft., 4-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom house located at 6442 Pontchartrain Blvd. in Lakeview. Built by Hyman L. Bartolo Jr. Contractors, LLC, the home is valued at approximately $725,000.

To ensure visitor safety during in-home visits, builders will be following all CDC and governmental guidelines, and have agreed to provide hand sanitizer and to frequently sanitize all high-touch surfaces throughout the day.

A full list of homes and their locations can be found at www.hbagno/paradeofhomes or at “New Orleans Parade of Homes” on the free mobile app. For more information, attendees can also pick up a copy of the print program at featured Parade homes and select business locations around town.
