LAPLACE — The River Region Chamber of Commerce held its first cornhole challenge this past Saturday. According to Executive Director Chassity McComack, a dedicated “cornhole crew” contributed to the success of this event by handling all of the boards, equipment and registration setup. Parish President Jaclyn Hotard and the St. John Parish Parks and Recreation staff also showed their support for the cornhole challenge.
Kynan White of West Side Cornhole and Brent Dicharry of the St. James Parish League donated prizes for the raffles. HydroChem was the presenting sponsor for the cornhole challenge, and corporate sponsors included Advanced Marketing and Promotions LLC, Apache Industrial Services, Cox Media, Denka Performance Elastomer, First National Bank USA, IMTT, Postlethwaite @ Netterville, St. Charles Printing, St. John the Baptist Parish, The Slone Group and United Front Transportation.
Food and Beverage sponsors were Apache Industrial Services, Malou’s Southern Eatery, Matherne’s Supermarket, St. Charles Printing and Tod’s Catering.
Last but not least, the team down crew consisted of Emile, Kevin, Tricia, Gloria, Scott, Carter, Conley, Libby, Debbie, Aspen, Flo, Vida, Anjenea and many folks that played and helped in between.
The River Region Chamber of Commerce is looking to host another event in the fall. According to McComack, Chamber events are a great opportunity to put business teams together and network with others in the community.
