LAPLACE — The LaPlace Lions Club, a community based, nonprofit group, recently hosted its Poker Walk. The event was held to raise money to benefit local Lion’s charities, the Louisiana Lions Eye Foundation and Louisiana Lions Crippled Children’s Camp.

  Currently the club is accepting applications for  two financial opportunity request programs in the LaPlace area: Community Grants and the Emergency Fund Request.  Preference will be given to non-profits whose programs serve the LaPlace area.
