Ascension, Asssumption and St. James Parish guilty pleas 05/10 – 05/14

During the week of May 10 – May 14, 2021, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.
Ascension Parish:
- Alvin Johnson, 7603 Oakmount Dr. Baton Rouge, LA., age 37, pled guilty to Monetary Instrument Abuse and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
- Randall Tobias, 22852 Joe May Rd. Denham Springs, LA., age 35, pled guilty to Video Voyeurism and was sentenced to 1 ½ years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 1 ½ years supervised probation.
- Andrea Jackson, 302 Claiborne St. Donaldsonville, LA., age 53, pled guilty to Aggravated 2nd Degree Battery. Sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation.
The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Phil Maples, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Cody Martin.
- Stephen Clark, 11113 Hummingbird Lane Denham Springs, LA., age 29, pled guilty to Conspiracy to Commit 1st Degree Robbery and was sentenced to 15 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
- Oscar Coney, 22910 Sabine Dr. Denham Springs, LA., age 35, pled guilty to Theft Valued Over $1,000, but Less than $5,000 and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.
- Carl Mckinley, 2605 S St. Landry St. Gonzales, LA., age 62, pled guilty to Aggravated Battery and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
- Elizabeth Parker, 10617 Airline Hwy Gonzales, LA., age 28, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 2 ½ years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
- Glenn Smith, 12123 Roddy Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 20, pled guilty to Illegal Use of Weapons or Dangerous Instrumentalities and Attempted 2nd Degree Murder. The defendant was sentenced to 15 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
- Israel Williams, 42033 Betty St. Gonzales, LA., age 22, pled guilty to Armed Robbery and was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
- Donell Bates, 103 Grisaffe Ln. Belle Rose, LA., age 32, pled guilty to Resisting an Officer with Force or Violence and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.
- John Robert, St. Bernard, LA., age 46, pled guilty to Monetary Instrument Abuse and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
- Charles Marshall, 43464 Norwood Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 30, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and Theft Valued at $750 or More, but Less than $5,000. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
- Brandon Ursin, 4564 Walter Hill Rd. Darrow, LA., age 33, pled guilty to 2nd Degree Battery and Resisting an Officer with Force or Violence. The defendant was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. It was ordered that 6 months of the said sentence are to be suspended, and upon release from incarceration, the defendant is to be placed on 3 years supervised probation.
- Jeffery David, 14308 Summerset Dr. Gonzales, LA., age 31, pled guilty to Sexual Battery and Simple Burglary. The defendant was sentenced to 20 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. It was ordered that the defendant is to serve 10 years of the said sentence, and the remaining 10 years are to be suspended. Upon release from incarceration, the defendant is to be placed on 5 years supervised probation. In addition, the defendant must register and notify as a sex offender.
- Edward Ezeff, 42421 Hwy 30 Gonzales, LA., age 20, pled guilty to Aggravated Assault with a Firearm and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Correctios with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.
- Jermaine Moland, 7008 Hwy 1 Belle Rose, LA., age 37, pled guilty to Hit and Run Driving and was sentenced to 6 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.
- John Montgomery, 14286 Florida Blvd Livingston, LA., age 23, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Hit and Run Driving. The defendant was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
- Brock Outlaw, 11010 Martin Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 32, pled guilty to Domestic Abuse Battery by Strangulation and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.
- Ryon Simmons, 12484 Fouche Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 27, pled guilty to Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling and Attempted Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
- Jacobi Williams, 41390 Churchpoint Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 20, pled guilty to Stalking and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 1 year supervised probation.
The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Leila Braswell and Maeghen Kling. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Jason Verdigets.
Assumption Parish:
- Blaine Newton, 34237 Duff Rd. Walker, LA., age 48, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
The above case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Lana Chaney, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Tess Stromberg.
St. James Parish:
St. James Parish had no court news to report this week.
