St. John participates in the National Flood Insurance Community Rating System (CRS) Program; which is a voluntary program that provides flood insurance premium discounts to communities that implement programs and measures that exceed the minimum floodplain management requirements of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).

We are pleased to announce that St. John the Baptist Parish Community Rating System Class has been upgraded from a Class 8 to a Class 7.

This means properties located in the Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA), will receive a 15% discount on flood insurance and those outside the SFHA will receive a 5% discount on flood insurance. The discount will be effective, April 21, 2021.
