SJSO arrests recently sought subjects

LAPLACE — Detectives with the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office recently requested the public’s help in identifying the owner of a black truck and identifying a male subject who was a person of interest in a bank fraud investigation.
Ryan Ray Hardy of LaPlace was arrested and charged with bank fraud (felony) and access device fraud- counterfeiting/forgery (felony) on March 31.
The St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office also recently requested the public’s help in identifying the owner of a white Chevrolet Tahoe that was involved in a hit and run March 21 in LaPlace.
Devon Robert Nelson, 35, of Gramercy, was arrested March 26 in connection to this investigation. He has been charged with evidence of compulsory motor vehicle liability security contained in vehicle, hit and run driving (misd), reckless operation of a vehicle (misd) and operating vehicle with suspected license: no license issued.
