LAPLACE — Effective March 16, the new hours for the St. John the Baptist Parish Recycle Yard at 1801 W. Airline Highway in LaPlace will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. This site is open for residential recycling only.

The following items are accepted: Newspaper, Magazines, Catalogs & Pamphlets, Junk Mail & Envelopes, Home Office Paper, Paper Bags, Boxboard (thin cardboard), Phone Books, Holiday & Greeting Cards, Dark-Colored Envelopes & Folders, Shredded Paper, Aluminum Cans, Tin & Steel Cans, Empty Aerosol Cans, Aluminum Foil, Recyclable Plastic and Used Oil.

The following items are NOT accepted: Paint & Solvent Containers, Scrap Metal, Nails/Screws/Gutters, Broken Glass, Light Bulbs, Mirrors, Window Panes, Dishes & Cups, Ornaments & Decorations, Plastic Bags & Packaging, Styrofoam, Toys, Motor Oil Bottles
