Old photos wanted for Heritage Weekend

DESTREHAN — The River Road Historical Society is seeking photos of people, places and events in St. Charles Parish prior to 1960 for an exhibit at Heritage Weekend at Destrehan Plantation on May 1-2, 2021 and for display at the St. Charles Parish Library.
Here are ways to submit old St. Charles Parish photos for the exhibit:
- Mail them to destreheritage@destrehanplantation.org.
- Drop them off at the Destrehan Plantation Gift Shop.
- Drop them off at any branch of the St. Charles Parish Library.
- Call Rachel Allemand, the heritage education coordinator at Destrehan Plantation, at 985-764-9315 for an appointment to have your photos scanned.
When submitting photos, please include your name, contact information, the approximate year the photo was taken and a brief description of the photo. The deadline for submitting photos is March 15, 2021.

The River Road Historical Society, doing business as Destrehan Plantation, is a small non-profit organization whose mission is to preserve history and provide education on Destrehan Plantation.
All proceeds from tours go to the restoration and preservation of Destrehan Plantation and its dependency buildings.
