RESERVE — Coach Michael Sanders, a former NBA player and the new St. John Parish Parks and Recreation Director, is hosting a basketball mini camp teaching proper fundamentals and skill development to boys and girls ages 7 to 13.

The first session will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 21 through Dec. 23. The second session will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 28 through Dec. 30. The location will be REGALA Gym, 200 REGALA Park Road in Reserve, and registration is limited to a fixed number of spots.

Camp highlights include the following:

• Triple threat position – Shooting, Passing and Dribbling
• Specialized Teaching – Pivot move, Jump Stop, Ball Handling and Lay Ups (Right and Left Hand)
• Defensive Position – Stance, Slide and Hands
