During the afternoon hours of November 15, 2020, the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office received a medical emergency call on the Westbank pertaining to a 6-month-old infant not breathing. Life saving measures were performed, but were unsuccessful.
During an autopsy, the death of the infant was ruled a homicide.
Through an in-depth and still ongoing investigation, sufficient evidence was obtained to request an arrest warrant in relation to First Degree Murder, which was granted by the 29th Judicial District Court Honorable Judge Connie Aucoin.
On November 16, 2020, a 12-year-old sibling of the deceased infant was arrested and charged with Louisiana Revised Statute 14:30 (First Degree Murder). The arrestee was transported to a juvenile housing facility pending further court proceedings.
