Comets defeat Slidell in season opener

After a Slidell punt, the Comets drove forward 50 yards in six plays, capped off by a 20-yard touchdown run by Keenan Gauff. The first quarter ended with the Comets in the lead 7-0.
The scoreboard stayed steady through the second and third quarters. Early in the fourth quarter, Carter Chauvin snagged a 26-yard field goal for the Comets to increase the score to 10-0. Zack Vicknair added a two-yard touchdown to bring the final score to 17-0.
