UPDATED: President Hotard Issues Mandatory Evacuation for Areas North of Airline Hwy
Parish President Jaclyn Hotard ordered a Mandatory Evacuation for areas north of Airline Highway (including but not limited to: Cambridge, River Forest, Foxwood, LaPlace Park, Belle Terre, New Era, Sugar Ridge) in advance of Tropical Storm Sally. The evacuation order is effective at 6 a.m. on Monday, September 14.
St. John is under Hurricane and Storm Surge Warnings and a Flash Flood Watch. Tropical Storm Sally is expected to bring flooding rainfall of possibly
more than 10 inches, storm surge and tropical storm force winds through Thursday.
All government buildings, the Parish Courthouse, traffic court, public and private schools are closed Monday and Tuesday.
